I was pleased to get both of the tiny kites to work. Like the Hata, this one barely gets a positive angle, but I’ll take it.
Despite the amount of stripes and features in this napkin print, I’m not seeing many other creative uses for it.

Here’s another 3 inch Eddy with a torn trailing edge, and another solid flier.
I really wanted to try something different with this pattern, but finding something that works with the really busy print is escaping me at present.

This 3 inch Eddy flies fine too. I wanted to try a torn trailing edge, although it’s difficult to see from the picture.
I’m not enamored with the results, the pattern is busy enough without adding the distraction of the rough treatment of the sail.

Ok, so I found a few reasons not to keep making a kite every day. I’ve found a second job, and am now working 16 hours a day (when I can get it).
Here’s to getting caught up from the months between work.
None the less, here is a new Eddy. I was initially excited by the print on this tissue, but once I got it home I was overwhelmed by picking a spot on the material.
I’m ecstatic by the way this turned out, I’ll have to try some more with this material, and remember the results when I see other patterns larger than my kites.

With the stark color blocking effect of the large stripes, I wanted to try softening the shape of this kite with a shredded trailing edge.
This print has presented its challenges, and helped me expand my thinking on miniature sail design.

As I mentioned in a previous post, this new print ( that I was really hoping to utilize heavily) presents some unexpected layout challenges.
This one works pretty easily though.

Another classic kite, with a slightly different perspective.

This little guy flies well, but I won’t chalk it up as one of my faves.
I tried inverting what I did with the previous kite, and added a torn trailing edge as well, but it doesn’t quite work for me.

I found an exciting new napkin pattern a couple weeks ago at the Dollar Tree, and finally picked up a package with tips from my new job. Here’s the first kite using only one element from the print.
Isn’t it cute?

While I’ve been having fun with the stripes in this print, the green in this sail made me think “color block”, so I made the sail a little smaller to emphasize it.
